How to Get Help With Unresolved Tax Problems The Taxpayer Advocate Service (TAS) is an independent organization within the IRS, headed by the National Taxpayer Advocate. The Taxpayers Advocate Service helps individuals and business taxpayers resolve problems with the IRS. Each state and IRS Campus has at least one Local Taxpayer Advocate. CPA Mobilization Kit for Military and Reserve Members A new CPA Mobilization Kit for Military and Reserve members is available on the CPA Financial Literacy Resource Center at http://www.aicpa.org/financialliteracy/Financial_Toolkits/Military_Toolkit.asp. The kit focuses on the information that active duty service personnel need to manage their finances. It includes an overview of TRICARE health insurance, overseas housing allowances and special tax benefits for military members. It also provides guidance on basic financial issues such as budgeting, achieving financial goals, investing and much more.
